FOUR O'CLOCK FUN
Is an informal, child-friendly, service geared to young people…songs they know, things to make and do and also something for the adults.
We have an afternoon service in church once every three months, which begins with refreshments at 3.40. The service itself starts at 4pm, usually finishes about 4.45pm and is informal and active; moving round the church is almost compulsory!
Our next ‘Four O’clock Fun’ is on the 17th January
Come and try it out… come and meet God in a way you hadn’t expected Our theme is ‘Darkness into Light’; watch a slide show, experience a ‘bubble blessing’ and more….
We need people to be actors, read things, play music or just help out.
If you can spare an hour on the 17th to do any of these things –
please give me a ring.

GIVE A GOOD CHILDHOOD THIS CHRISTMAS
Christingle services have raised vital funds for The Children’s Society for over 40 years. Last year, more than 6,000 services took place across the country raising over £1.2m to help disadvantaged children. A donation of just £10 can:
•Provide a homeless young person with basic provision including warm clothing, toiletries and a blanket
•Pay to hire a specially equipped sensory room for an afternoon – enabling disabled children to improve their sensory perception
•Pay to train a volunteer to act as a mentor for young teenagers on bail, helping them keep out of prison and get back to school.
•Help train a volunteer to work with young refugees, enabling them to get into school.

TAKELEY FARMERS' MARKET
It’s December already and it doesn’t seem possible that we’re now looking forward to our ninth market. As always, a big thank you to all our supporters.
SSE had a fun time in the kitchen last month and will be joining us to sell campaign cards, calendars and T-shirts again in December; so if you’re still looking for a present…… bear it in mind. There will also be personalized cards available on our regular stall.
Don’t forget it is not too late to order your turkeys from the Great Garnetts pork stall.
Lisa of Food Prints (fruit and veg) also tells me that if she has enough orders for veg boxes, she will deliver them right up to Christmas Eve; you can discuss your requirements.
This month we will be joined by Christine with her South African cuisine; we will also have a stall selling Christmas plants and arrangements, plus hopefully one or two other seasonal surprises.
We will be saying Goodbye to Julia (our craft lady) who is moving to Scotland a tad too far to come I believe; so be sure to come along and wish her all the best for the future and maybe find a few presents from among her good ideas and some bargains. Also goodbye to Hall Cottage soaps who are retiring.
The kitchen will be run by the Takeley Guides and they will be raffling a hamper of market goodies.
I’m sure I echo all our regular stall holders’ sentiments in wishing you a Very Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year
Please remember there will be NO market on January 2nd, the first market in 2010 will be 6th February.
Next Market Saturday 5th December
